Dear Friends,
We’re here to tell you about our bar/bat mitzvah project, “Kids No Pain.”
Did you know that lying perfectly still for one whole hour while preparing for surgery is a very tough thing for any child to go through? Unfortunately, many kids get very sick and have to experience that fear of the unknown and possible pain. Oftentimes, children lie still without anything to take their minds off the terror.
As part of our Bat and Bar Mitzvah project, we (Romi Goldner and Sammy Rosenberg) have taken upon ourselves the heavy burden of helping kids in the hospital during their time of need. We have chosen to help kids at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, Israel.
In 2001, Meirav Goldner (Romi’s mom) was a patient in the cancer ward at Sheba Medical Center. Romi not only visited her mom in the hospital, but she also heard about the kids getting cancer treatment. Because of the amazing treatment in the hospital, Meirav survived and is now healthy.
Unfortunately, at Sheba Medical Center, like in most hospitals, funding goes toward medical equipment and emergency needs. Things that help a patient’s peace of mind generally must come from private funding, and we want to do something to help the children who go through cancer treatment because we are kids, too! We know that the best way to get a person’s mind off anything is to watch TV. And, we need your help.
We are committed to raising money for “Kids No Pain.” With your support, and a little magic, we may reach our goal of raising $20,000 to help buy two entertainment centers that are especially designed for the kids in the cancer ward.
The childre in the Pediatric Cancer ward are excited about our project! Please know that 100% of your contribution will go toward the “Kids No Pain” project. You may help by donating your tax-deductible contribution below, or you may send contributions to: ATTN: Kids No Pain Friends of Sheba Medical Center PO Box 55456 Sherman Oaks, CA 91413.
